Dear Writer-Friends,

I've been self-publishing since 2011, and I've shared the knowledge I've gained in two books: the Indie Author Survival Guide, Second Edition, and For Love or Money. I'm not an indie rockstar or a breakout success: I'm one of thousands of solidly midlist indie authors making a living with their works. These books are my way of helping my fellow authors discover the freedom of indie publishing. Write on, writer-friends!

IndieRecon - Day Two

I'm super excited about this!
(and not just because I'm on the agenda)

The roster of mega indie authors on this thing is impressive! The topics are incredibly timely and straight from the people working in - and succeeding in - the indie trenches, every day. In a fast-changing industry like indie publishing, there are no veterans that have been working in it for 20 years. The presenters at IndieReCon are the people who have their finger on the pulse of change happening today.

Click here for the FULL ROSTER. The conference is a mixture of posts and chats; here's a post on how the conference works.

But here's the one (for Wednesday) that I'm particularly looking forward to:

Wed 20th (EST)
9:00 am - Writing Successful eShorts for a Living - Hugh Howey (post)
It's Hugh Howey!! Aaaahhhh! /endfangirling
Given that I'm looking to launch a serial of novellas next month, I definitely want to hear what the master has to say on the subject! I'll try to keep the embarrassing fangirling to a minimum.

I'd list the rest that I'm interested in, but literally everyone on the agenda today is an expert in their topic area! I'm lucky enough to have already partaken of the wisdom of many of the people on the roster (inside and outside the Indelibles) - they have much wisdom to share. Go check them out! You won't be sorry.

NOTE: I'm on the agenda for Thursday 8:30 am  – Measuring Success– Susan Kaye Quinn (post)

  4. My kiddos are home on school vacation, so I ended up having to just grab a nibble at the Twitter chat last night. It was great! And I love how I know so many in attendance. :)
