Dear Writer-Friends,

I've been self-publishing since 2011, and I've shared the knowledge I've gained in two books: the Indie Author Survival Guide, Second Edition, and For Love or Money. I'm not an indie rockstar or a breakout success: I'm one of thousands of solidly midlist indie authors making a living with their works. These books are my way of helping my fellow authors discover the freedom of indie publishing. Write on, writer-friends!

Free Book: Taylor Davis and the Flame of Findul by Michelle Isenhoff

You've heard me talk about how free works; well, here's a fellow indie author with a free book today and tomorrow (May 10-11):

Let me introduce you to a brand new superhero…

From Michelle Isenhoff, author of the Divided Decade Trilogy, comes a brand new humorous adventure series. Taylor Davis and the Flame of Findul (Taylor Davis, #1) will be FREE on Amazon May 10-11.

Against his will, Taylor Davis has been sucked into a supernatural world of angels and their adversaries. There, he learns the Flame of Findul-the sword that guards the Tree of Life-has been allowed to burn out. The only way to avoid disaster is to relight it in the forge of Findul the firesmith. Taylor and three teammates have been assigned to this mission, but a formidable enemy, one who has eaten of the Tree, stands in their way.

From the Author
“After visiting several battlefields during a family vacation, I started my writing career penning YA historical fiction but soon found the freedom of fantasy even more to my liking. I’ve wanted to try my hand at a humorous adventure ever since I laughed my way through Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series.”

Look for book two in the fall of 2013. Taylor Davis is appropriate for ages 12+.

Author Bio
Michelle Isenhoff writes adventures for kids of all ages. Sometimes they take place in the past, such as her popular Civil War-era Divided Decade Trilogy and The Color of Freedom. Other times they involve fantastical plots or new worlds, as in The Quill Pen and Song of the Mountain. When she’s not writing, Michelle, an elementary teacher, now homeschools two of her three children, plants a huge garden, volunteers way too much at church, and is accepting resumes for a personal chef.  Sigh. The first three are true, anyway.

If you’ve missed the Divided Decade Trilogy, you can grab up book one, The Candle Star, for FREE at any ebook retailer.

  1. What a wonderful, and very generous way to discover a new series. Many thanks to Michelle, and to you, Susan.

  2. Thanks, Susan, for the bit of real estate. ;)

  3. Michelle's book sounds like it full of adventure, and it seems poor Taylor has his re-lighting work cut out for him. Best wishes for your success, Michelle! :-)
