Dear Writer-Friends,

I've been self-publishing since 2011, and I've shared the knowledge I've gained in two books: the Indie Author Survival Guide, Second Edition, and For Love or Money. I'm not an indie rockstar or a breakout success: I'm one of thousands of solidly midlist indie authors making a living with their works. These books are my way of helping my fellow authors discover the freedom of indie publishing. Write on, writer-friends!

New Release: Saving Yesterday by Jessica Keller

I have a New Release to share with you today from a new-to-indie-but-not-new-to-publishing author-friend Jessica Keller. She and another author friend (Charity Tinnin, whose New Release you'll see tomorrow) will both stop by on Thursday to share with us their journey into indie - and what it's like to be a newly-published indie author in 2014! So stay tuned for that. Meanwhile, check out this awesome sounding book!

From Jessica:

The TimeShifters series has been in my head for seven years. Seven years. I’m so excited that the first book, Saving Yesterday, is finally out in the world. The story is part time travel, part fantasy, part romance, mixed with a sassy heroine and plenty of secrets to go around.
Her blood holds secrets she never knew existed.
Despite the fact that she acts as a parent to her alcoholic father, Gabby Creed feels pretty normal. But her life is turned upside-down on her seventeenth birthday when a bracelet appears on her wrist and sucks her back through time.

Turns out she’s not even a little bit normal. She’s a Shifter—a protector of humans and of history itself. And she’s not alone. The other Shifters believe Gabby is special, even more special than the mysterious Michael Pace. Oh, and the Shades—seriously creepy creatures who feed off of human despair—are determined to capture her.

It’s all a lot to absorb. So Gabby’s grateful to have Michael as her Trainer—or she would be if she could get her rebellious heart under control. Then again, if the rumors about her blood are true, saving yesterday will be the least of her worries.

A Starbucks addict, avid reader, and chocolate aficionado, Jessica Keller is multi-published in both Young Adult Fiction and Romance, but the TimeShifters series is her first time wading into the Indie waters.
